Site Grading Best Practices in Civil 3D (201)

This course is available to registered Online University Students only. Current Students log in here.  If you are not a current student, register here.

In this course, you will learn how to grade a site using multiple tools in Civil 3D. Specifically, we will be using Data Shortcuts, Feature Lines, Grading objects, and a Corridor model to separately grade a project’s design features. We will start with a “base“ file that will be referenced and used as the background data.

We will then combine the Civil 3D design features into a composite graded surface to generate the final design feature. Once completed, additional Civil 3D project design elements such as pipe and pressure pipe networks can be created from the final surface. The final surface can also be used by the field personnel to provide stake-out information for the contractor.

On completion of Site Grading Best Practices in Civil 3D, users will be able to do the following:

– Review and “Clean” the Base File
– Discuss and generate the EG Surface
– Discuss and Create Data Shortcuts
– Review and go through the Corridor Model Workflow
– Site Grading Workflow
– Combine the Data for other Project Designs
